10.1 Parabolas

Sorry the video got cut off on the edges! The equation for transformational form of a vertical parabola is 4p(y-k)=(x-h)^2. I'll be sure to catch that issue when making the next lessons.
10.1 HW tip: When graphing the parabolas, it's going to be picky about following the 1a 3a 5a pattern. This is easier said than done when you're dealing with fractions and things, so I would suggest graphing using the vertex and the y-intercept. As a reminder, you can find the y-intercept by plugging in x=0 into the equation and solving for y. |

In this video, I forgot to put the negative with the 4p for some of the examples (the first two where it opens to the left). I caught this in my last example of the video, but know it applies to the examples that I missed :)

On the homework, it will ask for the asymptotes in a y=mx+b format. To do this, you will need to distribute the a/b(x-h) and then combine like terms with k.
